Services Offered

In order for Government, development partners, civil society and other key stakeholders to contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and other international, regional, national and lower level agenda with impact, it is important to build on good foundations. It is in this regard that CLEAN Uganda decided to have its work divided in to two key areas. Area one that builds capacity towards successful interventions and area two thats supports and implements programs based on good principles and practices. Under area one services offered include;

Organisational Assessment

We conduct organizational assessments towards capacity building and for partner due diligence. CLEAN UGANDA does a thorough assessment of the organization in order to get contextual information, which is complimented by a walk-through, brief interviews and some document review. The assessement is done using an internationally recognized tool that looks at; governance, management, human resources management, financial resources management, service delivery, external relations and sustainability.

Institutional Capacity-building

We design tailor-made capacity-building packages. Some of the packages we have designed in the recent past have included training staff in advocacy and building institutional capacity . We have also built institutional capacity around gaps that have been discovered following organizational assessment. The areas covered under advocacy included; target audiencies; approaches, messages, products and channels; stakeholder mapping and analysis;priority areas and work plan and Monitoring and Evaluation framework. Under capacity-building, some of the areas covered included; governance and how boards work, management, leadership as opposed to management, transformative leadership, how to manage meetings, organizational culture, , resource mobilization, partners relations and sustainability. In some instances, CLEAN UGANDA has developed training manuals and materials and has done follow up activities or supervision, in order to ensure that the capacity built is sustained.

Developing strategies

CLEAN Uganda has the capacity and experience to develop strategies along with training of trainer support packs. She has developed an Advocacay Strategy complete with the training pack for Consortium for enhancing University Responsiveness to Agribusiness Development Limited (CURAD). Organizational developments strategies, to move organizations from one level to another have also been developed.

Organizing and conducting trainings

Based on our client needs, CLEAN UGANDA has conducted trainings for various groups in the areas of strategic-thinking , team-building and resource mobilization.

Proposal writing

Good projects are based on good proposals. CLEAN has a technical team that have over the years mastered the art of good proposal writing, including having the problems analysed in-depth and adding a Theory of Change and Monitoring and Evaluation framework.

Research

Using a seasoned team and on-call consultants and partners, CLEAN Uganda conducts various forms of research, this could be pre-intervention rapid assessments, situation analysis or mid-term or end of term evaluations. It could also be evaluations of good pilots or models for replication and scale up. CLEAN Uganda has also engaged in research for purposes of addressing key policy issues.

Project design and implementation

With its expertise in the general area of programmes, CLEAN Uganda has the capacity to design, re-think and re-design projects based on innovative ideas and research. CLEAN Uganda also offers supportive services once the projects have been designed and implementation has begun. These services could include; developing training manuals and materials, writing, editing and analysing reports and looking out for strategic partners and networks. CLEAN Uganda from its past experiences has the capacity to implement projects in the area of Education and Reproductive Health both as a lead and an implementing partner.
